For Tokyoites, and any visitors that may be gracing this great city, I just figured out that Otori-jinja will be having another street festival on Nov. 25, (Monday). Be forewarned: It usually starts closing down around 20:00, (8:00pm).
From what I can gather, this is the third, and final installment of their "money rake" celebration. The penultimate one was on the 13th, but I passed by this celebration on the bus too late to partake in the glory.
I will be at this one! Fantistic culture, but even better food!! OOOH, potatoes!
Otori-jinja is at the intersection of Meguro dori,(Meguro street), and Yamate dori.
From Meguro train station,(walk up the stairs to the street, which are to your left as you cross the ticktet gates) if you get a bus...#1, #2, #6, it is two stops.
These shrine-sponsored festivals are a great chowhoundish experince in Tokyo. My only wish is that all of you get a chance to try it at least once.
