Cafe Zaiya has altered their bakery service to a self-serve and the baked goods seem fresher now for some reason. Less plastic wrapped treats being suffocated. More variety too.
One interesting item is the tofu muffin. Maybe it's a common Japanese item but I haven't seen it other bakeries. It's really, moist and has a light texture, almost falling apart at the touch but at the same time it's really rich. A bit too sweet for me but interesting texture, are those flax seeds in there?
enjoy!
