Tocques off to Yimster

Mr. & Mrs. & Master Jenniferfishwilson | Jul 15, 2002 10:32 PM

Intrepid Chowhound, Yimster, organized a superb walking/eating tour of San Francisco Chinatown Saturday. Even locals saw places and things new and exotic. For example, live frogs, whole roasted, decorated pigs, fish so fresh it was still jumping as it was cut for sale. The tour began with a Chinese breakfast ($4.00 and NO ONE was able to finish their portion) and ended with a lunch both in genuine "local" Chinese spots. These places haven't seen a "foreign devil" in years and probably won't until we go back. Which we will. Yimster supplied translations, explanations, introductions and advice on all the nuances of shopping and eating in SF Chinatown. In between he amused us with his stories of growing up in SF. Thanks, Yimster, for a great Saturday. We owe you big time! (And I'm sorry I ever called you a Yimposter. You are the genuine article!)
