I went Sat for dinner.
This places has DELICIOUS food, not your typical BBQ place because the food they have is a little different than other places. Get the combination meal with pork belly bbq and beef brisket and add a side order of pork trotters. Plenty of good food for everyone (there were 4 in our party). You start with your usual side dishes of pickes, spinach, daikon, etc... then pork trotters come slices thin and served cold, that you dip in this shrimp sauce. Then they serve you the beef brisket, it's sliced really thin and cooks fast on your table, they leave a layer of fat on meat so surprisingly it was not dry at all. After that, is the pork belly which is pretty much like uncured center cut bacon but I think this dish tastes the best because of the way they serve it. The waitress instructed us to place a small flat piece of rice noodle (like the ho fun in Chinese food but bigger and flatter) place some premixed greens on it and then you dip the pork in a soy powder then a chili sauce before wrapping it up and devouring it. That was my favorite. Oh yeah, there is also a yummy chawan mushi egg for the table to share. We ordered another one because it was so good with the rice. The rice is purple rice mixed with sticky rice. A little nuttier in taste and texture which really complemented the richness of the grilled meats. THe combo meal also comes with a bottle of soju or beer.
It's sort of a small place, so we did wait for like 15-20 minutes for a table because we didn't have a reservation but the good thing is that they are open late, until 12. Note, I think there is only one waitress that speaks English but everyone is really nice. Not like some other K-town places who have given me attitude because I'm not Korean. If you guys can check it out, pls report back on the board. I think I'm going to go again this week.
