We ventured up from Brooklyn last Wednesday. We were the only diners when we arrived at 7:30. A little while later a couple came in for beers only. By 9:00 when we left there was another couple and a hispanic (I don't think Mexican) party of 8. We started by splitting a calamari/chorizo appetizer. Have to say that Mexican chefs are really clever with combinations and this worked perfectly. I had Camerones Aztec, a wonderful shrimp dish and a side of rice and beans (each served in a separate bowl). Marilyn had a Mariscada: shrimp, calamari, mussels, clams, rice, etc. Both were wonderful. And my Camerones were very pretty as well as tasty.
There have been some reports about this restaurant going downhill. From our last experience, I do not think this is true. But I still think it needs all the support it can get. If you haven't been, it's worth the visit.
