THIRA - Hallandale

Tried Thira last night - new Greek restaurant opened two weeks ago where Gusto's was on Federal Highway just off Hallandale Beach Blvd. Since we love Greek food we were very excited since we live close by and aren't fond of driving up to Greek Island Taverna and fighting the crowds. Anyway I'm happy to say we were quite pleased and will definitely be going back. The Greek salad was good, not as tangy as I like, but good. Nice, ripe tomatoes, good quality feta. Next time I'll ask them to give an extra splash of red wine vinegar and sprinkle some more oregano. I had the baked shrimp with tomato, onion and feta. Shrimp a little overcooked, but it still had a very nice flavor. Served with rice and Greek style green beans. Husband had the roasted lamb and it was delicious. Another diner had the roasted lemony half chicken. I didn't taste it, but from the bare bones left on the plate, I'd say she really enjoyed it. Anyway, give it a shot. It's definitely a welcome addition to my neighborhood!
