Had a very nice meal, pre-theatre, at An Talia.
No alcohol--they told us where to buy some wine nearby (then charged us $10 cork-age for each bottle--I had assumed, no license, no corkage--the next day, when we were chatting about this, someone else told us no license, no BYOB at all--don't know the rules, but the restaurant surely should).
The food was very good and very reasonably priced. I started w/ a lively, fresh-tasting tabouli salad. Tasted someone else's sausage app., which was spicy and delicious. Someone else's baba ganoush, which I also tasted, was smoky and good.
My lamb skewer was beautifully cooked, medium rare, tender, well seasoned. Our whole party (seven of us) were happy w/ everything we ordered. The service was friendly and efficient.
The place is relatively new (I believe they said 3 months old) and was pretty empty (though again we were there early, because of theatre tots). Got out in plenty of time for the show.
A find, we thought, for pre-theatre (and a good, inexpensive meal in mid-town).
