Thai Orchid and Bangkok Ocha

nearlywild | Nov 27, 200308:49 PM

I finally got to try some Thai food. Last week I went to the Thai Orchid for lunch and this week I went to Bangkok Ocha for dinner. Both places are located in Charlotte. Of the two, I think I liked the Thai Orchid the best although Bangkok Ocha was very good. But do keep in mind that I do not know a lot about Thai food. At the Thai Orchid I had their Pud Gooy Hard, which was listed as one of their specialties on the menu. When they brought the plate out to me I couldn't believe how much food there was. But what was even more unbelievable was that I ate the whole thing. It was so good I just didn't want to stop eating. At Bangkok Ocha I was with a friend so we ordered several things. First we had two appetizers, Thai rolls and Tulip Dumplings. The rolls were ok but nothing special but the Dumplings were really good. For entrees, we had a curry called Gaeng Dang and a stir fried dish called Pud Gra Pow. Both were very good but not so good that I couldn't stop eating. The Thai Orchid has website with a menu. And I have a menu from Bangkok Ocha scaned if anyone wants it.
