I just wanted to post a thank you message to whomever it was (I wish I remember!) that reccommended Tempo on 5th Avenue in Park Slope as a worthwhile destination. Last night, my friend and I wound up there after being discouraged by the wait at Blue Ribbon and signs in the window at Stone Park declaring that if you don't have a reservation, you can forget about the restaurant week menu.
So while walking along, we ran across Tempo, which I remembered came highly reccommended from this board. We were cold and hungry, so we decided to give it a shot.
The host couldn't have been more welcoming or friendly. He informed us about Dine in Brooklyn week, and said that while there was a 45 minute wait for a table, we were welcome to eat at the bar, which was a great choice. Our two bartender/servers were freindly and attentive, and the food was just sublime (and the Yankee game on the giant HD tv at the bar was just an added perk for this fan).
I definitely reccommend this place if you're in the area. In fact, I daresay it made a better impression on me (both food and service-wise) than Stone Park.
