As part of a program at the middle school where I teach called "Food of the Month", I try to introduce 6th, 7th and 8th graders (11-15) to foods that they are unlikely to have had before. Good luck so far with everything from matzoballs to plantains.
I'd like to do something with rosewater - it would provide a good opportunity to talk about Persian culture and what spices really are or even how the senses of smell and taste are related. Any suggestions for recipies or foods to serve? Should be easy to prepare ahead of time and easily transportable and hopefully at least somewhat affordable.
