My in-laws are coming into town this weekend and I'm racking my brain to come up with a location for dinner on Saturday night. The problem is that they are from Upstate New York and are not adventurous as far as food. (Also, my husband and I live in Fort Greene but my brother-in-law lives in Bensonhurst so we need something near the "N" train for him.) In the past we've gone to Pete's Waterfront Ale House. Everyone really like Pete's so I'm looking for something similar a good basic tavern -- burgers, salads, soups, beers in Brooklyn preferably in Park Slope, Brooklyn Heights or Carrol Gardens. Is Johnny Mack's on 8th Avenue any good?
