Taqueria la Guadalupana, Carson City

I was driving through Carson City around noon today and realized I had about 45 minutes to kill if I were to arrive where I was supposed to be on time. So I decided to stop here at this new tacqueria...remembering it had received a good review in the Reno paper recently. Glad I did. They have a variety of (Mexico-city style) tacos, including sesos and lengua (brain and tongue). I had two tacos al pastor, which were delicious. The tortillas tasted fresh. Also decided to have a chicken torta. (I was hungry!) I only have two complaints about the torta: one of which is that the bolillo is not Mexico City quality (but as has been discussed here on Chowhound, it never is in this country....), and it could have used a few more jalapenos. Minor complaints, really.....The place is strictly formica tables (actually, the building was a Taco Bell in a former life...). Service was very friendly.....And they have the best home-made tortilla chips I think I have ever eaten!! (good, home-made salsa as well.....). Dirt-cheap prices: tacos are a dollar each. I wanted to let you guys know about the place, because it was, well, empty at lunch time today. Give them some business; they deserve it! They are at 2495 N. Carson St., Carson City, NV.
