Tantalum in Long Beach

So my friend and I stumbled upon Tantalum on accident and we figured we would give it a shot. The prices were very high but we were hoping that it would be worth what they were charging. We got the crabcakes to start and we had the double cut pork chops and the caramelized halibut.
The crabcakes were perfectly cooked. Not too crunchy, not too soft and the sauce was incredible. Most importantly, they were mostly crab meat and not cornmeal. For $14, it was well worth it.


The halibut was tender, flaky and flavorful. The vegetables and mashed potatoes that accompanied it were likewise quite tasty. Overall, pretty good value for $28.


The pork chops were tender and perfectly marinated. However, the stuffing that accompanied them were dry and bland. Priced at $26, this dish was definitely a let down. I feel like I paid for an overpriced flower that I can't eat.


The bill came out to $84 because my friend bought a drink, which I must say was also pretty good. The meal was good but I won't be going back anytime soon, I'm all about value and Tantalum does not stand out in that department.
