Took the recommendation of a chowhound by hitting Target (Tar-jay) and then Tangra Masala on Grand Ave. What a treat! The Chicken Pakoras appetizer and Manchurian Beef were both excellent. Tender strips of beef in a fine gravy. Loved it.
We were not crazy about the Tangra Masala chicken. Seemed that underneath all that heat (the waiter did not ask us how we handled spiciness) -- the sauce was a little blandish. I thought it was good -- but I don't think I'd order it again.
Had a great pistachio ice cream (malai?) and an odd rose flavored ice cream, which sort of tasted like frozen potpourri. odd.
Just wondering what else on that menu is great. I'm guessing Manchurian anything is a good bet. Has anyone had experience with the noodle dishes or soups?
