It’s the same place that used to be Sabatino’s Tapas, and before that the El Gaucho Grill. There always seems to be an Argentinean/Spanish theme to this restaurant, despite the name changes, and Tango is again Argentinean.
They still serve empanadas, croquetas and the Spanish tortilla (omelet). The menu has a grill section, a pasta section and a “kitchen” section. And they have lunch specials.
I had the skirt steak lunch special. It came with mashed potatoes, which were very good, and on top of the mashed potatoes were 3 freshly-cooked homemade potato chips. The steak was tender, and I love the crust that develops on the outside when it is grilled.
The killer here is the sauce. They bring you a basket of bread and a little bowl of this totally addicting sauce. It’s kind of an olive, garlic, parsley sauce that is so tangy and good that you just have to keep eating it.
The dish also comes with a vegetable soup, which is a little spicy, and has shaved parmesan on top.
Since Sabatino’s, they’ve painted it again (it’s no longer dark, but rather a light color inside), and it just looks less cluttered.
My skirt steak lunch special was $9.95, and a good value.
