On Friday I took my dad to Tango Gelato on Fillmore for his afternoon ration of ice cream. He asked for chocolate or coffee and was given a taste of the chocolate espresso. That sold him. The rich flavors were really strong and so good. This is his new favorite.
I had dulce de leche and mango sorbet. Medium in intensity, the mango had a bright acidic note that I wanted for contrast with the sweetness of the dulce. The dulce de leche had a fluffier texture and more sugar than I recall from the last time. Yet, it also had a bit of salt that kept it from being cloying. This is still my favorite flavor at Tango.
