All this talk about dim sum

I have a couple of questions:

Harbor Village (which I patronize because its right across the street from my office) serves its roast duck on a bed of some kind of reddish-brown nut/bean-like object. What is it?

Secondly, considering all the discussion on this board of dim sum, has there ever been a chowhound dim sum meeting? And if not, why not?
