Tacoma Szechuan

I'm new to the Tacoma area and have been looking for good restaurants in the area. We tried Tacoma Szechuan last week because it had gotten such good reviews but I was sorely disappointed. We had the Prawns with Broccoli in Hot Garlic Sauce, Kung Pao Chicken, and Fried Rice. As soon as I took the first bite I realized I had a mouth full of MSG. I quickly asked our waitress if she could stop the chef from putting MSG on the other dishes but it was too late. I thought Chinese restaurants stopped using that stuff in the 90's! Really, the fact that one could immediately identify the presence of MSG by taste means they must pour it on. That's just gross. The other problem was that both of our dishes should have been spicy - I wanted Szechuan - but the kung pao had nothing more than brown gravy on it. The prawns were a little more spicy but not at all spicy enough. If Tacoma Szechuan really is as good as it gets for Chinese food in Tacoma then it looks like I'll need to sharpen up my asian cooking skills.
