My partner is from San Antonio and says any carne asada taco he's had in Phoenix "is not a real carne asada taco." Well, this makes me crazy, cuz I tell him he lives in Phoenix and I'm sure they're many different styles of carne asada. I have to admit, however, after having had San Antonio carne asada tacos, that, indeed they are tastier. There is a "gravy" not found here in Phoenix. Or is there? Any ideas where to find this style here in the valley!!!!???? Thanks Chowhounders!
