To list ALL of Chef Anita Lo's awards and credentials would take quite a bit of time as the celebrated Chinese-American chef from Birmingham, Michigan has a culinary resume to rival anyone in the industry. Her contemporary American restaurant Anissa, operated for 17 years in New York's West Village earning a rare three stars from the New York Times and another from the prestigious Michelin Guide. Last fall Chef Lo released her very first cookbook, Solo: A Modern Cookbook for a Party of One.
In addition to amassing a mountain of critical acclaim for her cooking, Lo found time to win Iron Chef and helm the White House kitchen for a State Dinner with President Obama and Xi Jinping.
We'd be honored to have a chef as talented and accomplished as Anita Lo any time but are especially excited to have her during LGBTQ+ Pride Month. Lo is an out and open member of the queer community at a time when LBGTQ+ rights and protections are under attack and representation matters more than ever.
