Table Talk with Chef Anita Lo: LGBTQ+ Pride Edition

The Chowhound Team | Jun 25, 201901:16 PM     18

To list ALL of Chef Anita Lo's awards and credentials would take quite a bit of time as the celebrated Chinese-American chef from Birmingham, Michigan has a culinary resume to rival anyone in the industry. Her contemporary American restaurant Anissa, operated for 17 years in New York's West Village earning a rare three stars from the New York Times and another from the prestigious Michelin Guide. Last fall Chef Lo released her very first cookbook, Solo: A Modern Cookbook for a Party of One.

In addition to amassing a mountain of critical acclaim for her cooking, Lo found time to win Iron Chef and helm the White House kitchen for a State Dinner with President Obama and Xi Jinping.

We'd be honored to have a chef as talented and accomplished as Anita Lo any time but are especially excited to have her during LGBTQ+ Pride Month. Lo is an out and open member of the queer community at a time when LBGTQ+ rights and protections are under attack and representation matters more than ever.

For the next two weeks, Anita Lo will be taking questions from the Chowhound community in the comments section below and look out for more from Chef Lo on Chowhound.com.
