Sutra Sushi - Scottsdale

I received an email over the weekend telling me that Sutra Sushi would be open for lunch starting 3.24.2008.
Sutra is located inside of Barcelona. It is the old La Rouge Lounge with a few Asian touches.

We were handed a paper menu w/ prices and a pencil. We were instructed to check the boxes next to the items we would like to order. We ordered 3 different sushi offerings ($7-$10) along w/ a chicken teryaki bento box ($7)....which came w/ miso soup, salad, and rice.
Along w/ an iced tea and a water.
We also ordered Edamame....which came out first and was warm and salty.

The rolls and the bento box came out next....no miso soup in sight.
We made mention that the soup was missing....the waiter nodded and said he would be right back w/ it. Needless to say it never came. When my dining partner opened the bento box the portions were miniscule...4 pieces dry chicken a handful of salad and a few spoons of rice...enough, maybe for a child size portion.
The Sushi rolls were plentiful...though not the freshest fish we have ever had.
My dining companion ordered a second dish of Shrimp Tempura as he was starving from the lack of food in the Bento Box......
The shrimp were medium size not spectacular.

When our bill came...were were charged prices...that were not on the lunch menu we had been handed and no where close to what we should have paid for such a horrible meal.

We brought the bill to the Managers attention and it was corrected.....
For what we ordered, the quality, the service and the quantity....we felt totally ripped of.
The Manager could care less if we ever came back....it is definitely a lunch venue I wouldn't recommend or ever re-visit!

If anyone has had a positive experience @ Sutra Sushi I would love to hear about it!
