Supporn report

The Bear | Sep 28, 2005 05:53 PM

Reading the thread below regarding Thai food reminded me of our meal last weekend at Supporn in Wheaton, where we go every few months. Its always a very good meal at a very reasonable price. I had the Tom Ka Gai (Coconut Chicken Soup) and the Yum Mussels (mussel salad). My wife had a tofu appetizer and the penang curry (which she has just about every time we go there). Everything was very good. They typically serve the Yum Mussels (and other dishes) mild to American (their word, not mine) patrons. But if you ask for it more spicy, they will oblige. Request three star for basic spicy, four star for what most of us would call very spicy, and "Thai style" for something like the most spicy food you have ever had. I had four star and it was really good but about as spicy as I could deal with. The Penang curry has mild spice but great flavor. Enjoyed the Thai Ice tea too. Didnt get to try the sticky mango rice. Never have. Next time...
