Sunnin Comes to Long Beach!

LBQT | Jul 14, 200501:03 AM

Sunnin, the Lebanese staple of Westwood Blvd., has opened a branch on 2nd Street in Belmont Shore. What a welcome addition! This is a nice cafe, with a small patio out front (space formerly occupied by La Creperie, which has moved across and down the street). This branch has an expanded menu, with all the usual delicious suspects. My kefte kebab was pretty perfect, gently spiced, and served over a large serving of fluffy rice. Entree was served with a very fresh salad and a generous portion of amazing hummous. There was plenty of lavash (I don't think it was thick enough to be pita) for scooping it up. My companions had a beef kebab, and a chicken kebab (iirc, shouk towosh) sandwich. We were comped homemade baklava for dessert. This was the most delicious baklava I've had in years. I, for one, am ecstatic to have Sunnin here in LB.
