Sunday brunch help

john m | Jul 11, 2003 10:45 AM

I don't like brunch. I try to avoid going to brunch. I'd rather have a real breakfast, or a real lunch. I think most brunches are expensive, crowded, and noisy.

That said, I need to take an out of town visitor to brunch on Sunday. She is staying at the Peninsula, and has to be at a wedding at 1:00.

So, in the area bordered by the river, North avenue, the lake, and Western avenue, what suggestions do you have for me? Any cuisine is acceptable, price is not (much) of an object, and the only real requirements (at least for me, and since I'm in charge, that's what counts) are that the food be good (and ideally, spicy) and that I can get a good drink or two--no watered down bloodys or mimosas..

Thanks for your help.
