Sufganiot are a traditional Israeli Hannukah offering. Here in the US it is Latkes most frequently associated with Hannukah. In Israel it is the sufgania that rules. Virtually unknown outside the Israeli community, I am searching for good sufganiot in NYC. They are most easily compared to a jelly doughnut, although their dough is a bit yeastier, heavier. Does anyone have any tips?
