I am having friends over for dinner. Friend doesn't like Italian sausage but is fine with ground beef. She's bringing the tiramisu so I want to stick with Italian.
I had planned on making Ina Garten's lasagna with turkey italian sausage or a rigatoni with Italian sausage.
Is there anything I should do to season the ground beef or will the sauce be enough to flavor the dish? In Ina's recipe the sauce has fresh basil, onion, garlic, italian parsley, and cheeses. The rigatoni recipe has a marinara with garlic, basil, and cheeses.
I don't know if it's me but basil and ground beef seem like an odd combination. Will ground beef work? Thanks for any suggestions or comments.
