The down and dirty of my story is that I had to make stuffing for about forty people. Having already experimented with stuffing in the crockpot I sought out similar recipes. I found one that fit the bill, it is mixture of herb stuffing cubes, golden mushroom soup, sour cream, raisins and chopped onions. Though, I prefer to make things from scratch, I put aside my misgivings and gave it a go. It turned out great, so good in fact, I imagine with a few creative changes it could be even better. The stuffing was golden brown on the outside and moist and flavorful on the inside. So if there is stuffing in your future and you are pressed for time I recommend using the slow cooker.
