Stuffed chicken at Pann's

I cannot believe I found yet another thing to rave about at this place! Had to go down to Inglewood again for a morning of shooting pics, so of course I timed it for a Pann's lunch. Was gonna just do a sandwich, but the specials board said Stuffed Chicken $8.99. Okay, I figured a breaded half-breast and a wad of stuffing, sounds okay, and I get to have some more of that amazing pea soup to start...

Well, kids, it was about the biggest boned chicken THIGH I'd ever seen - my favorite piece! - and not breaded, but baked and stuffed to a small football size and drenched in some very nice gravy. The steak knife was totally unnecessary - edge of the fork did just fine. Succulent, flavorful... the stuffing was a mix of plain and cornbread, maybe a bit too moist and a tad over-seasoned, though it would have gone beautifully with rice, if I'd chosen that instead of the mac & cheese. They'd run out of the usual fresh broccoli, so my veg dish was corn and (formerly frozen) green beans, very much not up to the rest of the meal.

There was a thread a few days ago about a soul-food place across the street from Pann's somewhere. If I were down there every day, I might check that out, but when I'm at La Tijera and Centinela only once a month or so I just gotta go to Pann's!
