Went to Formaggio in Camb. for my first time to try their Sat. bbq but they didn't have much left when I got there, so I ended up with a wonderful panini w/ salami, mozzarella, zucchini and red onions. Not usually a salami fan but this was the good stuff, pressed nicely, $6. That store is great but they need more room, everyone's in each other's way. Got dessert at Hi Rise, ginger oatmeal cookie which was one of the better cookies I've had recently and not too overpriced ($1.50). Dinner was a great mango ice cream cone at Christina's in Inman Sq. Also recently had a grapenut cone at Toscanini's which was actually a respectably sized small (as opposed to the micro sized I'd gotten and sworn them off for a while) and very good.
Plans to hit Bubbling Brook in Westwood (I think) for a burger and ice cream fell apart so I drove down to the Clam Box on Wollaston Beach for a fried clam plate at the relative good deal of $14.75. Pretty decent fry job, fair amount of clams, better than average fries and the cole slaw wasn't served in the tiny plastic container.
