Stressing about Lunch in Paris - Taillevent, Guy Savoy, La Condesa?

roze | Aug 6, 201811:39 AM     6

Hello All,

NYC Hound here looking for some sound advice as usual :) I'm coming to Paris next month with some friends for just 2 1/2 short days. This is actually the end of our European vacation which includes 4 days in Brussels, 4 days Bordeaux and our final Thursday evening to Saturday night in Paris. I was really hoping to do a fancy lunch somewhere but I am definitely stressing now about the choice. I had booked Taillevent but I've seen some recent reviews that haven't been quite favorable. I was also going specifically for the three course prix which is listed as 44 euro on the website but on the mobile site it's not mentioned at all, which is also making me a little worried. Has anyone been there recently?

I was contemplating a change to La Condesa but two of our group have never been to Paris before so I feel like that might be too far away from the sites for such a short visit. I then considered Guy Savoy for the special 100 euro internet deal as the location is ideal. We want something wonderful but I'm not looking to spend much past 100 euro (without drinks).

I'm just looking for some advice and suggestions. For some background in past Paris visits we loved La Bigarrade (so sad it closed down) Clown Bar and Frenchie but were not that impressed with Septime. We also already have lunches planned in Bordeaux at Le Saint Julien and Logis de la Cadène. Thanks for any and all help- sorry this is a bit all over the place.
