Stopped in Hauser Chocolates in Bethel, CT yesterday and Redding Road House

Just read about this place in the paper the other day and yesterday we were down in Fairfield County driving around to many estate sales and we ended up in Redding for lunch at the Redding Road House. This is a place I have wanted to try for 10 years. We only had sandwiches for lunch so I can't say much for the place but it was nice. We sat in the bar/pub area. The sandwiches were very tasty and the fries were good also. I had the french dip and my partner had the chef's salad sandwich. My sandwich was piled with prime rib, sauteed onions and swiss cheese. It was a dark/colonial space with a nice fireplace. Very nice bar area and whimsical lighting with the big chandeliers hanging down from the ceiling. They had an Octoberfest menu going on until November 1st. Wouldn't mind going back and try the german food. Since I knew Bethel was close by we made a beeline for Hauser Chocolates. Thank god for the invention of the GPS unit for the car! I wanted to try the blueberry port wine dark chocolate truffles. I ended up getting the 15 piece box for $16.95. Also tried pumpkin, cranberry, chardonnay, key lime and butter truffles. They were all very good. The woman behind the counter was sorta gruff but I wanted chocolate and didn't care about her attitude!
