In today's NY Times (THursday 26 Jan)pg A16. There is a piece: EPA Seeks to Phase Out a Toxic Chemical. The EPA has asked DuPont and seven other companies to stop using PFOA, Perfluorooctanoic acid in Teflon-coated pans as in some health studies it has been linked to cancer, strokes and other health problems.
I am an enthusiastic user of non stick pans. Does anyone know more about this issue or can anyone suggest a safe alternative to Teflon?
