Sterling Vineyards, Vintner's Collection

TrishUntrapped | Dec 4, 201412:42 PM     5

My daughter likes red wine and recently discovered Sterling's Cabernet Sauvignon. We enjoyed it over Thanksgiving, but when she went to get it at a different liquor store they only carried the Sterling Vintner's Cabernet. The sales clerk told her even though it had the Sterling label it was not produced in Napa. It was also about $10 a bottle cheaper than regular Sterling, so she bought it.

We did a taste comparison at home, and it wasn't even close. The Sterling was good, smooth, drinkable, the Vintner's was bland and somehow also sour. None of us liked it.

Wondering what the point is of the Vintner's label.
