Stereotypic Texan/Austin Menu for Graduation party

Epchan | Apr 20, 201707:09 PM     12

Planning my son's HS graduation party. He is going to UT Austin (from Chicago, IL) and I'd like to serve some "typical" Texan/Austin food at his party (at the pool/grill). Expecting about 100 people. Prefer to homecook/grill the foods.

Planning to serve sweet tea and limeade.

Some ideas we were throwing around -
- Tex-Mex (what exactly is "Tex-Mex"); taco bar?
- BBQ (Ribs and brisket) (Gave my dad a smoker for Xmas, but never used it yet; no experience w/ smoker)
- Collard/Turnip Greens
- Baked Beans

(A couple of years ago, we did an Atlanta/southern themed menu for my daughter's graduation party - went to Emory. The geographic themed menu was a hit!)

Would appreciate any ideas!
