It can be tough to find a decent meal in Sullivan County, but I was pleasantly surprised to come across Stella's, a new restaurant right on Main Street in Jeffersonville. It's got a great, low-key ambience, and the food was exceptional -- great local greens in the salad, fresh butternut squash in the soup, and an amazing chicken dish from Snowdance Farms, a local purveyor. Considering the only other options in town are a mediocre diner and pizza place, Stella's is a welcome relief.
You can sit on one of two decks, overlooking a small creek -- probably too cold now, but great place to see the autumn foilage. Plus, TLC network is in town doing a makeover show of the whole town, and they've already redone a bunch of the facades in town.
