I've just made Christmas puds for the first time in years. St Delia's recipe. She says steam for 8 hours and from other posts it seems that this is to make sure the suet is properly melted. I actually pre-melted the suet before I added it to the other ingredients. Can I cut down on the steaming time. I actually would like to leave the house and can't cos I'm constantly feeding water into the steamer.
