Will be in Midtown on Wednesday for a meeting (42nd and 5th) and will be working til about 6pm. Figured I'd treat myself for a nice steak dinner since its been awhile and I am craving one big time. As a lot of you know I am a steak fanatic and have been to a decent number on steakhouses but am always looking to try new ones to add to my list. I have been to Keens, Del Frisco's, BLT Prime, Ruth's Chris, Uncle Jack's. Wondering where I should go for my steak treat this Wednesday. Most steakhouses will accept walk-ins but I assume it should not be too busy during the week no matter where I go.
So where should I go? Traveling isn't an issue (not limited to Midtown) since I am a hop and a skip from Grand Central. I am considering:
1. Primehouse- Pretty new and the menu looks pretty cool compared to your typical steakhouse.
2. Porter House- Have been wanting to try since it opened. Beautiful spot.
3. Quality Meats- Another creative menu with cool sides.
4.Craftsteak- Taking my dad to Craft for his bday so this would be a great way for me to see how the food is before going. Love the way the menu looks and always wanted to try Tom Colicchio resto....
5. Typical Steakhouses- Old Homestead (I know they have gone way downhill supposedly but always wanted to try their signature Gotham Steak or Prime Rib), The Palm, Smith and Wollensky.
I am going to Strip House for my bday so that isn't on my list for Wednesday. Neither is Sparks, Wolfgang's, Ben and Jack's or any of the Luger off shoots since I will be dining alone and wont be shelling out the money for a porterhouse for two. Thanks all in advanceeeeeee!
