Steak in the Triangle (Again)

Tom from Raleigh | Apr 7, 2017 10:03 AM

I have an upcoming business dinner. I'd like to eat in Chapel Hill or Carrboro, but would consider Derm. I'm looking for steak. I like a ribeye and fries would be nice. I don't want to pay north of $40 (since I'm not paying), so Bin 54 is out. Vin Rouge has great fries, but no ribeyes. I don't think Farmhouse is the right choice. Lantern, Elaine's and Provence have no steak on their menu or only filet. I'd prefer to not do a chain. I'll check Acme and Crooks to see if either lists it as a special. In Durham, Watts and Nana's have a ribeye on their current menu. The one at Nana's is grass fed which is a plus. I've had steak at Watt's and been quite pleased. The Stanbury is one of my favorites and they have a ribeye on their menu, but I don't want to drive to Raleigh on a weeknight even though I love that place. Has anyone been to Metro 8? I'm also thinking of Stoney River Steakhouse has what I'm looking for but it has a couple of strikes against it - it's a chain and it's at a mall. I generally don't eat at the mall, due to the fact that I'm no longer a teenager. Am I missing any spots?
