After reading all the fantastic reviews on this board, we headed to Starfish to celebrate the Valentine's season on Saturday.
Things were of course busy so it took a few to get our table. I had a selection of 6 oysters and they were heavenly - what a treat. I think I could easily have sat there and just ate oysters! My poor husband could barely watch though, not being a fan.
For main's, I had the artic char and my husband had the surf n'turf with beef tenderloin and half a lobster tail. Sadly, I should have gone with a pile of oysters. The filet had been seasoned with s&p and that's about it, something I'm pretty sure I could have done myself. The purple potatoes were close to raw and the broth everything was in, wasn't anything interesting. My husband said his was tasteless, and for him, that is something - he rarely feels a need to season food even when I do, but he wasn't impressed.
The dessert redeemed things for us with profiteroles - light and fluffy with a tasty smooth custard inside.
Service was chirpy but nowhere along the line were we asked if we enjoyed our food - which is an opening I need to share any problems. Oh well.
Probably wouldn't go back since the most expensive part of the meal was so dull. I liked watching the oyster shucking though!
