starbucks alternative

so i admit to consuming the product that many people consider swill and many people enjoy, but my reason is this: it's the only enmasse and readily available coffee that doesn't make me feel sick 20 minutes after.

i've drank the second cup, the tim horten's, the druxy's (only food outlet available near my workplace), the coffee available at work, the cappuccinos from those individual coffee makers.... and it leaves me hopped up on caffeine and sugar and feeling rather sick in the afternoon. i haven't had a single problem with starbucks (or nice restaurant or home brewed coffee), until it hit me this morning that i was treating my latte addiction pretty much like i was just drinking flavoured hot milk. now for $4 a cup, i would like more.

short of making my own coffee (not currently an option) and testing places out myself for fear of tummy sickness.... can anyone tell me where i can get a great cup of coffee at 7am in the morning walking from Queen W and Beverley St to any TTC stop?

ps. the thought occurred to me that i shouldn't mention my locale for fear of restauranteurs who may track me down for bad reviews, but coffee is more important ;)
