Little Star Solano downhill alert [Albany]

Went the other night to the Solano branch with a party of four including a vegetarian, so ordered a Classic and a Little Star.

The Classic (sausage, mushroom, onion, green bell pepper) had a lot more watery tomato than previously and less sausage and cheese. It was like they split the difference between what they used to make and Zachary's gloppy mess. I had thought that The Star's pizza was not as good as Little Star's, but this was no better than The Star's, maybe not even as good. Still much better than Zachary's.

I'm not sure how long it's been since I had a Little Star (spinach, mushroom, feta, ricotta), it might have been all the way back when Brian Sadigursky started with the Little Chicago pop-up. As I remember the pie, if there was any tomato it was just a thin layer on top. This was as tomato-gloppy as the Classic.

The crust in both also seemed not as well made as before, thinner, dryer, more crackery. Ditto the two salads we ordered.

Not really surprising, I suppose, since Sadigursky is no longer connected with that branch. I guess I'll have to try the original on Divisadero again.
