star anise in chicken soup, would you do

I was looking for a chicken soup recipe for Passover and came across one that looked pretty good but called for one small point of a star anise. I gather this would add a licorish flavour and can't decide if this would add or distract. I know it partly depends if one likes that particular flavour and a small point isn't much, but I would appreciate any input. How I love this website.
