Stand - quickie review

harrison | Mar 28, 2008 11:21 AM

I happened to be passing by Stand and it happened to be lunchtime so I figured I'd knock it off my "to try" burger list.

I was quickly seated, greeted and went with the "lunch pack" - a "classic" w/ fries and a drink. The classic comes with some homemade ketchup and dijon. I hate mustard so asked for it without. And that's pretty much where the wheels came off. The place was probably 75% full including two big parties of about 10 each. And I'm sure they were slammed with takeout. Suffice it to say I never saw the server again and it took about 25 minutes to get the burger. Of course, it came with the mustard on. And some sorry looking shredded iceberg and unripe tomato slices. I decided to skip the brioche bun as well. The patty itself was tasty, grilled to a nice medium rare. The fries were nice and crisp and salty.

Overall, nothing special. If I'm going to wait a long time, I'd sooner walk 10 blocks or so north to Shake Shack.
