Stained Glass cookie flavor combinations

Katie Nell | Feb 4, 2008 09:24 AM

I have this cookie cutter that I want to use for Valentine's Day cookies: http://www1.gooseberrypatch.com/goose... I want to make the heart in the middle "stained glass" with hard candies. I was also thinking that they might need to be frosted, because it's a rather large cookie and I think it would be kind of boring if it was just a sugar cookie with a tiny candy middle. But, I can't really think of a good flavor combination. I think cherry or peppermint candies would be pretty, but I can't really envision a frosting that would go well with either. Actually, I'm not even sure either flavored candy would be all that tasty in the cookie either. So, should I just go for pretty, or is there some flavor combination that would be outstanding? Any inspiration?
