Went tonight with my gregarious friend Luis, who made great friends with the chef last time by presenting him with the gift of a giant avocado after a great meal. This time, said chef (who is apparently the owner's brother, doesn't speak a word of English, and like every single other person who works there, radiates positive energy) returned the favor, and gave us a container of Thai beef jerky. Now I'm a vegetarian, but I couldn't resist a couple of bites - very tasty.

Our meal was good as always. A discovery came w/ dessert (following up on another recent Sri thread). It was late, so they were out of both the banana things and the taro pudding. We tried this delicious pudding w/ tapioca, coconut milk, and black beans. The waitress heated it up for us and it was really sensational - a bit like the banana in coconut milk at Arharn (sp.), but w/ beans and tapioca instead. Looked a bit weird, but tasted out of sight. (I think it was called Saku...something like that anyway)

I have never experienced a more lovely restaurant staff anywhere.
