Spots Along the Georgia Coast?

dracisk | Jun 11, 2015 09:53 AM

Hi all. I'm going to be traveling to Brunswick, Georgia, on a pretty regular basis for the foreseeable future and am wondering about any good spots along the Georgia coast that I should check out. I could fly into either Savannah or Jacksonville, so I feel like the entire coast is fair game. I've done research about Brunswick itself and the Golden Isles* so feel like I have enough information about those areas, but I'm wondering about other spots along the coast. For example, in my research I came across B & J’s Steaks & Seafood in Darien and wonder if there are other places along the coast that I should check out. I've also read (not on Chowhound) about the Crab Shack on Tybee Island -- is that place good or is there anywhere else to check out on Tybee Island? ETA: Never mind about the Crab Shack! I did a search and will avoid. Still interested in other Tybee Island options.

*I saw a reference to the Georgian Room on Sea Island. Is that place worth it? Would it be weird to dine alone there (I generally don't mind dining alone at a bar or at a table)? What about Delaney's on Saint Simons (same questions)?

Thanks so much for any thoughts!
