What new spot would you try?

twentyoystahs | Feb 26, 201501:00 PM

So..with 2 kids and life in the suburbs, we don't get like we used to...:( certainly not to the new, fun, hip spots. Our last night out was Row 34, which was great. Boston Chops was also a good experience, mostly b/c we had a really knowledgable, passionate server who made her best to make the meal great.

We've got a night out next Wednesday around 7pm. Totally flexible on the neighborhood - Boston/Cambridge/Somerville, wherever. Would like it to be a spot with lively atmosphere, not too stuffy, not incredibly loud but doesn't need to be an intimate romantic spot either. Just somewhere with really good food. Some places we haven't been but have heard good things about:

Ribelle
Alden & Harlow
Barcelona
Guilana

Row 34 is booked. I'd also like to go to Giulia in Cambridge but that also looks good. I know it is restaurant week next week -- we've never been to Sorrellina and the online RW menu looks good -- could that be worth checking out? The RW menu for Boston Chops looked good too and it looks like we can get in there as well...but...I'm thinking we've been to Boston Chops and even tho I liked it, I'd rather try somewhere new & I probably wouldn't pick it if it wasn't cause of the good RW deal.

Barcelona might be fun? Any other possibiilities? I just feel like there are so many places that have opened up in the last 6 months and I know I am missing tons of other possibilities. FWIW we love Italian, small plates, seafood -- Hungry Mother a perfect example of the type of place I like. Amazing food, passionate folks in front/back of house, casual environment but with a buzz, etc. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you might have.
