Spiazzino

Delightful meal at Spiazzino tonight. I think the curse of the 21/Valencia location may be over.

Very fresh, well prepared pasta dishes from the looks of what was coming out of the kitche. I chose the ravioli with ricotta and swiss chard and was very happy. Big lusty chunks of garlic and tender, perfectly cooked fresh raviolis. None of the pastas are over 9.95, and the portions are very healthy. My ravioli was easily the equivalent of dishes I've had at much higher prices.

The chicken with lemon/artichokes/capers also really hearty with mashed potatoes and a zucchini/tomato side. Again, $10. These are Pasta Pomodoro prices folks and it is legitimate Italian.

Creme brulee with fresh raspberries as tasty but a tad eggy and soft. Good portion size though, definitely one to split. All that, plus 2 glasses of a solid Chianti and an Espresso for less than $40? It's a deal. The restaurant is the perfect addition to the Valencia corridor, solid food and great value in nice setting. I just hope it escapes the fate of Le Krewe and 3 Ring....
