On the southwest corner of Fifth Avenue and Fifty-Third Street, there used to be a standard-issue food cart selling falafel, gyros, etc. Nothing special there, except that instead of stuffing the falafel into a standard-issue pita, it was wrapped in a circular flatbread, almost like an unopened pita. It made the falafel a little drier and more "bready", not quite as gloppy as most. No one seems to know where this guy's gone - anyone have any idea where I can find a falafel in midtown not served in a pita? Thanks.
