Need Special Rec. for La Jolla

Gayla | Mar 27, 2003 06:33 PM

I need a recommendation for a moderately priced brunch location in La Jolla for April 6th.

My mother's old roommate and her niece will be in La Jolla for a wedding and my mother has told them that she and I would take them to brunch. Here's the kicker. My mother's old roommate is 90 years of age and gets around with the aid of a walker. We have no idea how old the niece may be. My mother is in her mid-80's but gets around pretty darned well for her age. She is, however, a product of the depression and doesn't want to spend $20+/person for brunch (yes, she can be cheap). The roommate and niece are staying at the La Jolla Hilton. So what I'm looking for is a restaurant in relatively close proximity to the Hilton, that has easy access for older patrons and doesn't cost and arm and a leg. I may be the only one interested in how good the food actually is. Also, it's a pretty good assumption that the food should not be too exotic.

Anyone have any bright ideas????
